As the temperature starts to drop, it’s time to ensure our ponds are ready. Our Winter Preparation services start in October. For all our customers we deep clean all the filters (in the skimmer and the bio-falls), we trim any aquatic plants (to prevent decaying organic material from getting into the pond), we install any heaters and/or bubble aerators, we remove any UV bulbs, we crack open check-valves (for freeze-proofing the pond plumbing), and we do a partial water change.

For many customers we also install a tent with a net to prevent falling leaves from entering the pond. We come back in December to remove these once all the leaves have dropped.

Pricing varies by pond size, but this is a good investment as a clean pond over the winter makes spring cleanouts quicker and easier.
